Tricky taxis


After hearing word that taxi drivers had been ripping off tourists, the mayor of Prague (Czech Republic), disguised himself as an Italian tourist in order to investigate.
Prague taxi drivers are notorious for charging visitors grossly inflated prices. In January Bem decided to do a road test himself, disguised as an Italian visitor, and was charged more than six times the normal rate for a short ride.
"Disguised the way I was, I was certainly expecting to be charged a higher price, but not to such an outrageous extent," Bem said at the time.
